This article explores the current development of the right to social assistance as well as its potential for improving income support policies. Focusing on Article 13 of the European Social Charter (ESC), it aims to shed light on the content of such provision by identifying a list of comprehensive defining standards from the monitoring activity conducted by the European Committee of Social Rights (ECSR). Resumen: Este trabajo aborda algunas cuestiones de fundamentación de los derechos sociales, entendiendo los mismos desde una perspectiva igualitaria. Como derechos humanos universales, se asignan a todas las personas. Ahora bien, de ello no cabe inferir que los derechos sociales sean, por definición, derechos de igualdad. Asimismo, en cuanto a las variantes del igualitarismo, se concluye que la relevancia de las necesidades y de las capacidades remiten a una concepción del igualitarismo suficientista.

Resumen: Las finanzas pueden servir a los derechos sociales en una economía de mercado, porque en ella están subordinadas a la economía real, y tienen carácter limitado, pero no en el capitalismo porque en él las finanzas son autorreferenciales, no tienen término, y conducen a una sociedad indefinidamente endeudada, en la que las deudas son impagables. 
 
 Abstract: Finance can be useful for social rights in a market economy. This is due to the fact of the subordination of finance to real economy and due to its limited character. In contrast, finance in a capitalist economy is self-referential, are boundless and lead to a society in which debts are unpayable.

The economic crisis is a time when the social sector professional has to live up to expectations by informing, raising awareness, helping with self-organization and mobilisation from our privileged position as intermediaries with the people, honouring our ethical obligation to fight for the social rights of the underprivileged and defending them. Attribution theory suggests the hypothesis that heterosexuals' attitudes toward homosexual sexual orientation will be more negative when homosexuality is attributed to controllable causes. Our randomized study analyzed (a) whether beliefs about the genetic or environmental etiology of the homosexual sexual orientation can be immediately modified by reading a text and (b) the causal effect of attributions about the controllability (environmental etiology) or noncontrollability (genetic etiology) of homosexual sexual orientation on the rejection of same-sex parenting and their social rights.
